The “Flight” Nervous System Response

*Are you always on the go?

*Do you overwork or overachieve?

*Is it hard for you to relax?

*Do you try to micromanage situations and other people?

This actually could be a sign of the “flight” response to stress!

This was surprising to me. I thought “flight” only meant physically running away from danger.

It can also mean “fleeing” uncomfortable feelings by staying busy or through perfectionism. Sound familiar?!?!

Somatic (“of the body”) practices can help our nervous systems exit the “flight” stress response, and move into the rest and digest nervous system functions. (Phew!)

We’ll be doing movements and chanting that are designed for nervous system support this week in Kundalini Yoga & Meditation class.
