The “Fight” Fear Response
Holly Henty | MAY 3, 2024

*Do you talk over people during disagreements?
*Do you pick fights with people to keep them from getting close to you?
*Do you tend to blame others?
*Do you always have to be right?
*Do other people feel exasperating to you?
You could be stuck in the “fight” nervous system response to fear.
Most of us are familiar with the “fight” responses of anger, rage and dominance.
This tendency can become a default way that we operate in the world - and then it can show up in subtle ways (in addition to the more obvious ways of literally fighting).
In class this week, we did two practices to help transmute the fiery energy of anger into a more bioavailable form that can be more useful in our lives.
These yogic practices help us re-set our nervous system so we’re not stuck in the sympathetic nervous system response of “fight.”
The feedback from class was awesome-people shared that they felt clear and energized (that’s how fire energy serves us in beneficial ways!).
Next week we’ll be working with the “flight” nervous system response to fear. The following weeks we’ll explore the “freeze,” “fawn,” and “flop” responses as well.
You can feel the benefits of these Kundalini Yogic practices immediately - no experience necessary. Join us!
