New Word: Confelicity
Holly Henty | MAR 9, 2025

I learned a new word: confelicity
It means “shared happiness”
Its opposite might be jealousy or schadenfreude - which was another new word for me that means “joy from harm or misfortune suffered by another”
Feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness arise for me often recently - I’m sure you can guess why
But one thing I do have control over is sharing happiness with others
Someone tells me about their great vacation? I share their happiness!
Someone shares a success they’ve had or a picture of a rainbow? I share their happiness!
Our brains are wired for synchronization. Utilize it!
Not to ignore suffering. But to remember that suffering is not all that there is.
Practice confelicity and let me know how it goes!
