As a modern American (myself included!), we’re not so good at the Yama of “Aparigraha” (non-greedy, non-accumulation, non-possessiveness, non-attachment)

So the question becomes: How can I grow and prosper and thrive so that ALL beings (and our planet!) can grow and prosper and thrive? How can my expansion help others expand?

This is where the energy of Jupiter in Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) can help. Jupiter represents the energy of expansion and freedom.

If you deeply reflect on why we want to accumulate and hold onto things…ironically, one of the reasons is because we think it will offer us a feeling of freedom

So the more we can harness Jupiter’s energetic imprint of expansion, the less we’ll grasp and attach to things - and thus, more closely align with Aparigraha. And this greatly benefits our planet and all the beings on it.
