Asteya - non-stealing

I’m guessing most of us aren’t robbing banks or honing our pickpocketing skills. Ha!
The yogic principle of “asteya” - non-stealing - reminds us not to take what isn’t ours. And it’s not just tangible items…but also things like taking people’s time or ideas.
If we come from a feeling of lack, we have the belief “I don’t have enough.” And then we’re tempted to take what isn’t ours.
Practicing gratitude helps us to align with the Yama of asteya - non-stealing. As a survival mechanism, our brains will first go to perceived danger and lack. It’s natural. So we have to train our brains to gratefully receive what IS…rather than look for what isn’t.
